Bottom line - 2007 was a decent year for music, but with the exception of my #1, a lot of this felt a little bit like last year's news. The best music these days is found "free" and online, beyond iTunes: mashups, "bloghouse" remixes. The MySpace track window is the 21st century indie 45, and just like in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, a band has often run out of ideas by the time it outgrows that level.
